Children from more fortunate schools throughout our school district are hosting a district wide bookdrive to support My Own Book. Last time we did this the kids collected 2,500 books!
This is a great way to unite kids in helping other kids.

For one week, millions of young people around the world will join a growing
movement to generate new ideas and seek better ways of doing things. Dozens
of countries are coming together for the first time to host Global Entrepreneurship
Week, a global initiative to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination,
and creativity. To think big. To turn their ideas into reality. To make their mark.
The Week builds off of the phenomenal success of Entrepreneurship Week USA
in 2007. More than 1,300 organizations planned 3,700 activities celebrating innovation

My Own Book will be hosting a Gingerbread House Display and Auction. We are asking for donations of gingerbread houses from private individuals, clubs, bakeries, restaurants, etc. We will post pictures of each of the gingerbread houses on our website and encourage individuals to bid on the houses to raise money to promote and share the love of reading. World AIDS Day, December 1st.

Our GSA will be partnering up with our school's thespian club to show RENT in respect of world AIDS day, December 1st. Pizza and pop will be provided by our clubs to all community members who attend.

This awrd is aim at complementing the efforts of young people in Sierra Leone who are working very hard to ensure that the voice of their collegues who are voiceless to be hard.
It also aim at recorgnising adults/Institution/Organizations who are working towards ensuring that young people are seen as creative partners in nation building.
This award also would recorgnise any young people in the world who have craeted a great inpact in his/her community and country and person who have serve as a great change maker.

Teen volunteers will be on hand at Bransford Elementary School's holiday musical performance evening to read and let the children pick out books. We picked this evening because we wanted the entire family on hand to see that reading is fun! We are also letting each child enter our drawing for one of five FIVE FOOT TALL teddy bears complete with a teddy bear book.
In addition, we've teamed up with Hi 4-H to have crafts and cookies on hand for the families. This should help make the event great!
